There will be a new Boys Soccer coach in Lake Orion this fall.
According to press release released by Dragons Athletic
Director and former football coach Chris Bell, Lake Orion Boys Soccer coach
Mike Paukovitis has stepped down from coaching.
Paukovitis has coached the Dragons beginning the season in
2008 and the program has seen a ton of success under his watch.
Bell mentioned in the release that he thanked Paukovitis
efforts on coaching the team and looks for the future. “Coach Paukovitis is in
a place of his life where the time and demands in his professional career as
well as his commitment to his family do not allow him to dedicate the time and
effort needed to successfully our high school soccer program. I understand and
respect his decision. Matt began coaching at Lake Orion in 2008 and the program
has seen periods of great success. Several of his players have gone on to play
at the college level and he has established Lake Orion as a solid player in the
high school soccer world. I am thankful for his efforts. That being said, we
look forward to the next chapter in Lake Orion Boys Soccer and we are going to
hire a coach that will take us back to the championship level. Oakland County
has a rich history of elite soccer programs and Lake Orion can be on that
level.”
It will be interesting whom Bell hires as the team’s next
soccer coach but he has an idea where to take the program.
We shall see what happens.
Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing
story.
