Dragons Roll on Seniors Night past Raiders in three games

Written Friday October 12th, at 12:10 AM

The Dragons sent a message on senior night that this team will be a force to be a recon with.

Lake Orion maybe has gotten things situated after a disappointing loss to Birmingham Marian in the Mustang Invitational last week. Dragons coach Ross Talbott’s crew took care of Farmington on the parquet floor on Tuesday night.

The eighth ranked Dragons took to the home court for the final time this season as they destroyed the North Farmington Raiders 25-17, 25-19, 25-18.

The Murdock sisters were just dominant tonight combining for 29 kills against a pretty good North Farmington defense, which prides itself on defending.

North Farmington came in having Kaitlyn Schoeppner, who is 6.3 and will be playing volleyball at Mississippi State next season and Birmingham Marian transfer Nicayla Joyce whom both have created havoc for opposing teams this season.

The Raiders only Red loss was to Clarkston in four games before tonight.

Lake Orion was just dominant all night. Starting in game one, the lead went back and fourth until it got to 9-8 then the Dragons just dominated from then on. In games two and three, Lake Orion got out to early leads and forcing Raiders coach Jessica Condeni to call timeouts during the night. After the game Condeni’s team had a player’s only meeting near the electronic room of the Dragons Lair.

The Dragons now stand at 6-0 in the Red and have showdowns against Darien Bandel and the Wildcats on Tuesday night in Oxford and then the showdown with Coach Kelly Averall’s undefeated Clarkston Wolves (6-0 Red) in Clarkston on Thursday night.

But first things is first, Lake Orion is in the Beast of the East Tournament in Warren on Saturday with powerhouses Macomb Dakota, Clarkston, Mattawan, Lakeland, Novi, Richland Gull Lake, Troy, Birmingham Marian, Birmingham Seaholm, and others are in that tourney.
