Dragons lose to Stoney Creek. Likely No Playoffs for Second straight Season.

Written Friday October 2nd, at 10:37 PM

In a season of disappointments, nothing can come down to this game.

In a game the Dragons needed desperately they couldn't come through as they let yet another game get away in a 21-14 loss to the Stoney Creek Cougars. To make matters worse the game was played at Orion and in front of the Mother's Wish Game.

This loss puts Orion at 2-4 and likely not making the playoffs for a second straight season.

The Cougars clearly outplayed the Dragons in this game, time possession was dominated by Stoney Creek. They used their running game to perfection against Orion's defense led by running back Tristan Leinen. He had three rushing touchdowns all from short distance.

Also you got to give Stoney Creek coach Brad Zube and his team a lot of credit especially Hunter McFave and Spencer Barr-Redmond. I thought both of them played well in shutting down the Dragons offense.

Orion did get two touchdowns in the game though as Caiden Prieskorn found Michael Jarvis for a 37 yard touchdown pass for a 14-7 lead in the second quarter and Chris Wilson tied the game 14-14 with his nine yard rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

Prieskorn did not look good tonight, he missed passes and looked bad at times. Prieskorn did lose his top target Jaylen Wiggins to an concussion and Keith Fields had cramps in both legs but returned to the game.

Orion now plays Bloomfield Hills next Friday night for their homecoming, we'll see what happens.
