The Lake Orion Dragons men’s soccer team got some revenge in
soccer on Thursday night in Oxford
against arch rival Clarkston.
The Dragons overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit to stun the
Wolves 2-1 and will now face Grand Blanc on Saturday morning at Oxford .
First year coach Curtis Payment knew that this team had it
in them. “Quite a game, we’ve had this potential in us. It was time for it to
come on the big state” he added.
That big player that came to play was Russell Reichenbach.
Down 1-0, Reichenbach played the ball deep into Clarkston
territory then found Allen Karrip who beat the goalie and found an empty net
with 18:43 left in the game tying the score 1-1.
Reichenbach would then strike again, less than two minutes
later by scoring on a penalty kick making it 2-1 Dragons. “He’s been a big part
of our team this year. He just hasn’t had the production. He finally got what
he deserved through some hard work tonight” Payment said.
The Dragons now earn a match with the Bobcats in Oxford ,
anything is possible in the playoffs and we’ll see what happens.
