OAA Rankings Week Two

Written Saturday September 7th, at 5:40 PM

24. Ferndale Eagles (0-2): They are bad enough said.

23. Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks (0-2): Blackhawks have been outscored 109-26 and they get Southfield this week. Ouch.

22. Pontiac Phoenix (0-2): Things not looking good for the Phoenix after giving up 62 points to Stoney Creek last week.

21. Hazel Park Vikings (0-2): Open up new digs and give up 54 points is not a good combination at all.

20. Berkley Bears (0-2): Bears are trying but new coach and a new system will take some time to grow.

19. Troy Athens Red Hawks (0-2): Red Hawks have been outscored 87-14 in the last two games. They get Pontiac this week.

18. Farmington Falcons (0-2): Falcons have been outscored 80-46 in the last two weeks. They get Southfield Lathrup this week.

17. Southfield-Lathrup Chargers (1-1): Oak Park sent the Chargers back to reality but this is a much different Southfield-Lathrup team than in years past for first year coach Keith Stephens.

16. West Bloomfield Lakers (1-1): Lakers played well early but was blown out by Clarkston at home. Now they travel to Lake Orion to meet the Dragons.

15. Royal Oak Ravens (1-1): Ravens got their third win since 2007 by blowing out Ferndale 31-7. Their reward is to go to Auburn Hills and play an angry Yellow Jackets team.

14. Avondale Yellow Jackets (1-1): 56 points allowed last week is not good to see for the Yellow. Title hopes are not looking good in Auburn Hills right now.

13. Rochester Falcons (1-1): Tough 21-14 loss last week to Troy but they have to quickly regroup because they have Clarkston coming to Rochester this week.

12. Troy Colts (1-1): The Colts won the first of a must win over Rochester. Now they need to Stoney Creek game or risk having to beat Lake Orion or Clarkston to do so.

11. Rochester Adams Highlanders (1-1): Highlanders have concerns on offense. They need to figure that out this week with Oak Park coming into Rochester.

10. Clarkston Wolves (1-1): Clarkston had another slow start against West Bloomfield then Ian Erickson got going and the Wolves never looked back.

9. Beverly Hills Wylie E. Groves Falcons (2-0): Falcons have been rolling but the next two weeks will be interesting with Avondale and North Farmington coming to Beverly Hills but they go to Birmingham week eight against Birmingham Seaholm.

8. North Farmington Raiders (2-0): Raiders are a much different team with Chauncey Bridges on the field. North Farmington has a big one this week at Birmingham against the Maples.

7. Oxford Wildcats (1-1): Wildcats put 62 on Bloomfield Hills after losing a heartbreaker to Lake Orion. Oxford has a big one in Farmington Hills against the Hawks this week.

6. Southfield Blue Jays (1-1): Nice bounce back for the Blue Jays at Farmington after a tough loss to Detroit Cass Tech. They get Bloomfield Hills for their home opener this week.

5. Birmingham Seaholm Maples (2-0): Maples coach Jim DeWald called out his offense after beating Ann Arbor Pioneer 24-0. The offense responded by putting 56 up on the Yellow Jackets in Auburn Hills. If they beat North Farmington then the blue would be painted in Maple and White for a second straight season.

4. Farmington Hills Harrison Hawks (2-0): Hawks did not look good in the first half but found a way to beat Adams last week but they have to be much better if they want to beat Oxford this week.

3. Stoney Creek Cougars (2-0): The honeymoon is over for Coach Brad Zube and the Cougars. Bring on the Big Boys starting with Troy on the road.

2. Oak Park Knights (2-0): The Knights are 0-4 under Coach Greg Carter when they travel north of M-59. Rochester Adams is north of M-59 so this could be interesting this week.

1. Lake Orion Dragons (2-0): Dragons defense showed up this week posting a shutout. The touchdown allowed was on offense. Lake Orion’s offense looked sloppy last week against Troy Athens but is averaging 37 points per game right now.
