Dragons Ready for the Storm on Tuesday.

Written Thursday September 22nd at 11:45 PM

If the Dragons Volleyball team were thinking ahead to Tuesday's showdown with Clarkston at Clarkston well they weren't thinking that on Thursday night against a formidable Bloomfield Hills Blackhawks team.

Orion won in three sets 25-19, 25-14, 25-19 on Thursday. The Dragons also swept Harrison 25-15, 25-15, 25-15 on Tuesday as well.

The Dragons against the Blackhawks were led by Leah Kalugar's ten kills, three blocks, and 20 assists. Mallorie Berriman had seven blocks, Danielle Sargent had six kills and four blocks, Wren McCalluay had 18 assists, Lindsay Wightman had 14 digs, and Becca Zelmanski had seven kills and five blocks.

Orion whom is ranked eighth in the State and ninth by MIVCA will be in the Northville tournament on Saturday in which will feature some top teams in the State but once they get back into the Red they will face their toughest test of the league season on Tuesday when they go to Clarkston to take on the Wolves. Clarkston is also undefeated in league play and needed four games to beat Stoney Creek. The Wolves are looking for some payback after the Dragons beat them in the regular season and playoffs last season. Clarkston returns Abby Malanowski (17 kills), Sarah Austin (16 kills), and Kayla Luchenbach. All three were huge in the game with the Cougars.

Expect some fireworks on Tuesday night.
