Lapeer Finds New League

Written Friday October 4th, at 12:15 AM

The new Lapeer High School has found a league that will bring them in next season. If you like going west for division games and north for crossover games you’ll like where Lapeer is going.

As I reported on the Den a few months ago, the news of Lapeer merging and looking for a new league was interesting especially if they were to join the OAA or even have to deal with the likes of Lake Orion, Clarkston, and Oxford in the postseason but now it looks like they have found a new league for next season for athletics.

The new Lapeer High School will be in the Saginaw Valley Association, joining the likes of Midland, Midland Dow, Flint Powers, Mount Pleasant, Saginaw, Saginaw Arthur Hill, Saginaw Heritage, Bay City Western, Bay City Central, Bay City John Glenn, Davison, Flint Southwestern Academy, Flint Carman Ainsworth, and Flint Northwestern.

The new Lapeer High will be in the South Division of the Saginaw Valley Association, joining the likes of Davison, Flint Powers, Flint Northwestern, Flint Carman Ainsworth, and Flint Southwestern Academy.

Lapeer is leaving the Flint Metro League after merging with Lapeer East and Lapeer West and because of size requirements they were forced out of the league. Flushing will leave the Saginaw Valley Association to join the Flint Metro League replacing both Lapeer East and Lapeer West.

We’ll see what happens in the new league for Lapeer High School and even possibly some future OAA opponents it might play if any in the near future.
