OAA Picks Week Eight.

Written Monday October 14th, at 9:00 AM

3. Lake Orion (6-1, 5-1 Red) at 1. Clarkston (6-1, 6-0 Red): This game will decide the Red championship while the winner will play Southfield next week in the crossover. The loser has options at whom they will play. If Lake Orion loses and Stoney Creek wins then they will play Oak Park. If Lake Orion loses and Stoney Creek loses then they will play Harrison. If Clarkston loses and Stoney Creek wins then Lake Orion would play Southfield, Clarkston gets Harrison, and Stoney Creek would play Oak Park. A lot of scenes that I can't decide. PICK: NOT SURE.

Southfield-Lathrup (1-6, 0-6 White) at 2. Southfield (6-1, 6-0 White): The Blue Jays have earned this one this week. They can get ready to play either Clarkston or Lake Orion. PICK: SOUTHFIELD 63, LATHRUP 0.

Farmington (1-6, 1-5 White) at 4. Harrison (6-1, 5-1 White): The Hawks put up 60 on Oak Park last week. The Falcons were embarrassed at home in a 42-14 beat down to Bloomfield Hills, ouch. This game has rout written all over it. PICK: HARRISON 56, FARMINGTON 7.

Oxford (3-4, 3-3 White) at 5. Oak Park (5-2, 4-2 White): The Knights lost a tough one to Harrison 60-52 on Saturday. They return home for their homecoming against an Wildcats team that is desperate for a big win. Oak Park better be careful with Oxford and also their playoff standing as well. I feel confident that the Knights will get win number six but close over a tough and gritty Wildcats team. Oxford is much better than their record indicates. PICK: OAK PARK 28, OXFORD 21.

7. Groves (7-0, 6-0 Blue) at 6. Seaholm (7-0, 6-0 Blue): In a game in which both sides will go wild and crazy in Birmingham with the Blue at stake. The Falcons have erased the tough season from a year ago when they were 2-7. The Maples are trying to repeat as Blue champions. This match up will be very close but in the end Seaholm has too much defense for Groves to handle. PICK: SEAHOLM 20, GROVES 7.

8. Stoney Creek (5-2, 4-2 Red) at 9. Rochester (4-3, 3-3 Red): The Cougars were upset last week by West Bloomfield 31-26 and has another chance to make the playoffs this week. The Falcons have been beating the teams they are suppose to beat. Rochester is suppose to have their starting quarterback back after he served a one game suspension and Stoney Creek was burned in the air last week. This game will be a shootout but this should be win number six for the Cougars in Falcon country. PICK: STONEY CREEK 49, ROCHESTER 42.

10. West Bloomfield (4-3, 3-3 Red) at Pontiac (0-7, 0-6 Red): The Lakers have won three straight games to keep in the playoff hunt. They will need to beat the crossover opponent which will likely be Oxford next week to make the playoffs. The Phoenix gave up 62 points last week to Lake Orion and could get blown out again. PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 63, PONTIAC 20.

Adams (4-3, 3-3 White) at Bloomfield Hills (2-5, 2-4 White): The Highlanders lost to Southfield 14-7 last week and did well defensibly in that game. The Blackhawks shocked Farmington 42-14 last week. Adams is mad and they will make Bloomfield Hills pay for the loss to the Blue Jays. PICK: ADAMS 42, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 14.

Troy (2-5, 2-4 Red) at Troy Athens (1-6, 1-5 Red): In a disappointing year both Troy schools have some work to do. In the end the Colts will beat the Red Hawks in a low scoring game like last year. PICK: TROY 14, TROY ATHENS 6.

Hazel Park (0-7, 0-6 Blue) at North Farmington (4-3, 3-3 Blue): Welcome to the playoffs Raiders. PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 40, HAZEL PARK 0.

Ferndale (1-6, 1-5 Blue) at Avondale (3-4, 2-4 Blue): It's too late to save the Yellow Jackets season but a win over the Eagles will be nice for them. PICK: AVONDALE 42, FERNDALE 6.

Royal Oak (3-4, 3-3 Blue) at Berkley (3-4, 3-3 Blue): The Ravens upset North Farmington at home last week. The Bears were very competitive in a loss to Groves. This has the makings of yet another upset at Hurley Field. PICK: ROYAL OAK 34, BERKLEY 31.
