OAA Rankings. Week Eight.

24. Hazel Park Vikings (0-8): Vikings may have a winnable game with Grosse Isle this week.

23. Pontiac Phoenix (0-8): Tough year for the Phoenix, hope basketball season will be better.

22. Ferndale Eagles (1-7): Girls basketball is right around the corner Eagles.

21. Farmington Falcons (1-7): Falcons still banged up and Sean Coluter is still in disbelief.

20. Troy Colts (2-6): The Colts have been outscored 118-13 since being tied with Lake Orion at 17-17 three weeks ago.

19. Southfield-Lathrup Chargers (1-7): Chargers are young and next season they will be more improved.

18. Bloomfield Hills Blackhawks (2-6): Tough start to the new Blackhawks end next week with Troy Athens.

17. Troy Athens Red Hawks (2-6): Lucas Bezerra made Red Hawks history at Troy Athens last week and will do so whether its on the football field or the basketball court this winter.

16. Berkley Bears (3-5): The Bears have been very inconsistent this season and the loss to Royal Oak cost them a trip to the playoffs.

15. Avondale Yellow Jackets (4-4): Where was this performance a few weeks ago? If the Yellow Jackets have had this performance all year than they would had made the playoffs. They have a long shot though at doing so.

14. Royal Oak Ravens (4-4): Ravens have an outside shot at the playoffs although its not likely but Coach Ryan Irish has turned the corner at Royal Oak doubling the team’s win total in one season (four wins) compared to the last six seasons (2-43).

13. Rochester Falcons (4-4): Long shot for the Falcons to make the playoffs after losing to Stoney Creek last week. They need to beat Adams to do that for the first time since 1996.

12. North Farmington Raiders (5-3): Welcome to the playoffs Raiders.

11. Oxford Wildcats (4-4): Big game with West Bloomfield looms for the Wildcats after upsetting Oak Park last week. They have an outside shot to make the playoffs.

10. Adams Highlanders (5-3): Beat Rochester and they are back into the playoffs after a one year hiatus.

9. Oak Park Knights (5-3): The Knights haven’t been the same team since losing to Harrison two weeks ago and lost to Oxford last week. Now they have to beat Lake Orion on the road just to keep its playoff hopes alive.

8. West Bloomfield Lakers (5-3): The Lakers have a tough home match with Oxford and if they win that game then they will be back in the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

7. Groves Falcons (7-1): Tough loss to Birmingham Seaholm but the Falcons can take their anger out in Waterford against the Corsairs of Waterford Mott.

6. Lake Orion Dragons (6-2): The Dragons defense allowed over 334 rushing yards last week along with seven touchdowns on nine possessions. Ouch and they are still playing for home field this week against Oak Park.

5. Stoney Creek Cougars (6-2): Welcome to the playoffs for the first time since 2007, Cougars. A warm up starts this week with Harrison in Rochester.

4. Harrison Hawks (7-1): 106 points in the last two games has Hawks fans excited to see some more.

3. Seaholm Maples (8-0): With the Blue locked up, the Maples have a tough game with U-D Jesuit this week before the playoffs. Ouch. The Cubs are fighting for their playoff lives in this game.

2. Southfield Blue Jays (7-1): With the White locked up, the Blue Jays have a tough game with Clarkston this week before the playoffs.

1. Clarkston Wolves (7-1): With the Red locked up, the Wolves have a tough game with Southfield this week before the playoffs.
