OAA Picks: Week Five

1. Clarkston at 2. Oxford: This game maybe for the Red title. The Wildcats won last week 21-14 over Lake Orion and this is their homecoming game. The Wolves beat Stoney Creek 35-14 last week. Winner is in the drivers seat in the Red. DD PICK: OXFORD 28, CLARKSTON 21. ANT PICK: CLARKSTON 31, OXFORD 24.

6. Harrison at 3. Southfield: The Blue Jays and Hawks square off again in a rivalry match up with the road team winning four of the last five meetings. Question will be will Javon Shaw throw against Southfield’s athletic secondary? We’ll find out. DD PICK: SOUTHFIELD 28, HARRISON 20. ANT PICK: SOUTHFIELD 28, HARRISON 14.

Adams at 4. Oak Park: The Highlanders lost to Oak Park last season at Rochester, now the game is in Knight Valley and Adams may have no answer for Juan Hernandez. The Highlanders need this game bad. DD PICK: OAK PARK 35, ADAMS 7. ANT PICK: OAK PARK 49, ADAMS 21.

5. West Bloomfield at Orion: The Lakers are rolling at 3-1 and is very talented led by Tristian Jackson and Michael King but they have something to prove this week and put 41 on Clarkston two weeks ago. The Dragons are struggling at 2-2 and is in must win mode here on out. Lake Orion hasn’t lost a Homecoming game since 2000 and hasn’t missed the playoffs since 2000. This game will be a shootout. Hazel Park at 7. Groves: Mark this game as an easy tune up for the Falcons. DD PICK: GROVES 49, HAZEL PARK 0. ANT PICK: GROVES 38, HAZEL PARK 0.

8. Berkley at 10. Avondale: Last season was 34-31 Bears whom finished 3-6. The Yellow Jackets remember Homecoming, it was a nightmare. This game will be close again. DD PICK: AVONDALE 21, BERKLEY 16. ANT PICK: BERKLEY 28, AVONDALE 24.

9. Farmington at Pontiac: Mark this game as an easy tune up for the Falcons. DD PICK: FARMINGTON 56, PONTIAC 0. ANT PICK: FARMINGTON 38, PONTIAC 3.

Stoney Creek at Troy: The Colts only scored six points last week against Bloomfield Hills. They have a defense but the Cougars have a running game and a defense. DD PICK: STONEY CREEK 14, TROY 6. ANT PICK: STONEY CREEK 48, TROY 3.

Royal Oak at North Farmington: Ravens still have no chance in this one against the Raiders. Royal Oak has been outmatched lately and North Farmington has an experienced defense. DD PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 35, ROYAL OAK 7. ANT PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 31, ROYAL OAK 0.

Troy Athens at Bloomfield Hills: This game is interesting but looking at it, too much Nate Emery against a horrible Red Hawks defense. DD PICK: BLOOMFIELD HILLS 35, TROY ATHENS 21. ANT PICK: TROY ATHENS 14, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 13.

Ferndale at Lathrup: When looking at this game, this is a sleeper match up. Both teams are 1-3 and in need of a win. One will get it this week. DD PICK: FERNDALE 21, LATHRUP 14. ANT PICK: FERNDALE 24, LATHRUP 14.

Seaholm at Rochester: The Falcons are struggling, only seven points in four games. It might not get better against a Maples team hat still has Tommy Sheppard at quarterback. This will be a long night in Rochester. DD PICK: SEAHOLM 31, ROCHESTER 0. ANT PICK: SEAHOLM 14, ROCHESTER 13.
